Digitalshade Images

Site migration should be complete now. Both URL’s, digitalshade.net & digitalshadeimages.net should work equally well. Please as usual report any issues to me and i’ll get them taken care of.

Ok, so as some have noticed we have a new domain (digitalshadeimages.net) and a new host (dreamhost). I was playing around with dreamhost because I wanted to learn a little ruby on rails but I liked their deals so much that I decided to migrate the entire site over to them.

1&1 has been for the most part a good experience but they are very limited with some things and dreamhost gives me more control in shared hosting than I am used to.

What this means for you guys? Well right now the only change is this nifty little blog that I can use to report changes to the site without having to put it on my lj account. In the future? Maybe new things, we will have to see.

Site migration done in less than an hour thanks to the fact that I have shell access to the account. They have far more storage (and my limit grows each week) and far more transfer (also grows each week) and pretty liberal usage policies. Basically as long as I don’t start crashing the server or slowing everyone down alot I can pretty much run what I want on the box.
